In response to survey results, we will be choosing a different location for the first Sunday of each month. The time will continue to be 9:30 A.M. The location will be on the calendar (Events > Calendar at the left) a few weeks ahead of time! Remaining Sunday runs of the month will continue to start at Laurelhurst Park.
Please feel free to suggest any locations you'd like to run in the greater Portland metro area! It can be trails, neighborhoods, parks, etc. |

Portland Frontrunners has been given free tickets to a screening of Pariah, a movie about an African-American lesbian coming out in Brooklyn, NY. It was shown at the Sundance Film Festival and received great reviews, as well as some awards, and is slated to be released in theaters later in 2012. It also received a great review by the Washington Post and was named a "Critic's Pick". The showing will be on Wednesday, January 11th, at 7pm near the Lloyd Center area.
We already have a number of folks planning to attend. We have lots of tickets, so if you are interested in coming, CONTACT US and let us know. You are welcome to bring friends or guests along, too. As an optional activity after the movie, we will be going out for drinks and snacks at a restaurant/bar nearby. It sounds like a great movie, so come along with us!

Come out and join a bunch of us Frontrunners at the Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon on Setpember 2nd, 2012! There is an early-bird registration discount if you sign up by January 1st. Also, if you register as a member of our team, "Portland Frontrunners", the fee is further discounted. Sign up today to get the best deal!
If you register now, you'll have more than enough time to train for the race! As the date approaches, we'll see about planning a dinner for the night before, as well as coordinating rides to the event.
The race is a beautiful and scenic course through the rolling hills of Yamhill County, dotted with many wineries and farms. Some of our members ran this race last year and really enjoyed it... we even had some Frontrunners from Palm Springs who came up for it! There's a Wine & Music Festival afterwards where you get a free wine glass and can sample wines from all kinds of local wineries, among other things.
Whether you like wine, or not, it should be a great race and a fun time. Come join us!

Our annual meeting and 10th anniversary party was a great success! Thank you to all those who attended! We had a great variety of potluck dishes, lots of door prizes given away, and an overall fun event. Check out all the pictures on the PFR Facebook page!

The amazing birthday candle provided by Scott.
It started as a flower bud, unfurled it's petals in a blaze of fire, and played happy birthday while rotating. Fabulous!
